On arrival at Paro international airport, you will be received by our representative who will escort you to hotel. In the afternoon do a short hike which starts from above the National Museum, which ends at Uma Paro and will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.
After breakfast trek to Shana. It starts at Drukgyal Dzong following the Paro river gently. Pass through the cultivated fields and tiny picturesque villages. Overnight at camp in Shana.
Today after breakfast proceed to Thangthangka. Pass by a few isolated farmhouses, and deep forest area and also through a junction en-route, where another path leads north over the Tremo La to Tibet. Overnight stay at the camp in Thangthangka.
After breakfast proceed to Jangothang. En-route a small army post, beautifully valley of Tegethang, yaks, the stunning views of mountain Jhomolhari, Jichudrake and Tsherim Gang. Overnight stay in Jangothang.
This day is a rest day and chance to acclimatize and walk up to the Jhomolhari glacier or to the lakes in the opposite direction. Overnight stay in Jangothang
Today visit Dhumzo Chhu or Chorapang. On the way enjoy the view of Jhomolhari, Jitchu Drake and the valley to Jhomolhari camp site, several yak harder’s tent, Tsho Phu lakes a flock of Himalayan blue sheep high up on the rocky slopes. Take a time to enjoy the scenery, have a snack or put up some prayer flags you can also have the view of Basingthang Peaks(5500m), Chatarake(Djo Drake, Jo Darkey (5570m) and Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. The trail drops through a steep, narrow gully with gravel and loose rocks till you reached Dhmxo. The Soi yaksey Valley is a beautiful site with rock cliffs, waterfalls, deep side valleys, and snow- covered peaks. Stay overnight at the camp.
Today climb up tp Thongbue Shong. Climb from the camp through rhododendron, birch, oak forest draped in moss brings you to a meadow with huge Juniper tree and then lead s to Dhunge La then to Tagulun La).Overnight in Thongbue camp, the second highest camp of the trek.
Today head back to Shana. Cross the valley through a swampy area to a clear trail through rhododendron bushes climbing steeply to Thombu La. The ridge walk from the pass is one of the best parts of the trek: very high above the valleys on a good trail with a beautiful view, the trail descends steeply for 2 to 3 hours till you reach to the final night’s camp on a pleasant site by the Paro Chhu. Overnight stay in the camp by the site Paro Chhu.
Today, hike through the lovely valley finishing at Drugyel Dzong. The cab will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Paro. Stay overnight in a hotel in Paro.
After breakfast in the hotel, drive to the airport in time to catch up your onward flight.
Indian nationals do not require visa to travel in Bhutan. However they require an entry permit which will have to be processed on arrival. They can also avail advance permits online through a registered tour operator in Bhutan.
If you are traveling with an Indian Passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure from Bhutan), you can avail advance online permits whereby the holidays, or the long queue (for those traveling via land) does not become a hindrance. An e-Permit Clearance shall be sent to you, you will have to print and carry the letter on your travel to Bhutan. The actual permit will be stamped on your Passport on arrival in production of the e-Permit Clearance.
A clear scanned copy of passport (in color) in JPEG or PDF format and the flight details is required to process the online permits. Please note that the permit gets rejected if the Scanned copies of the passports do not meet the standards. Online permits require the use of TCB certified hotels, Bhutanese vehicle and certified Bhutanese guide.
Proper travel documents shall be required at least 10 workings days prior to the date of travel. We shall not be responsible for any rejections or similar issues in regards to the permits due to improper documents or delay in arrival of documents.
Entry permit will be issued at the entry point on production of Indian passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure from Bhutan) or Indian Voter ID. In case of Children, original Birth certificate in English and student ID is required. The traveler is also required to carry photocopy of the travel documents and 04 passport size photographs.
If you are entering Bhutan via land, it is to be noted that the permits are issued only during working days and hours. (Monday to Friday between 9 am to 4 pm during winter and 5 pm during summer). It is suggested that the travelers arriving in Phuentsholing on Friday should arrive latest by 10 AM in order to complete the entry formalities on the same day. No permits are issued on Saturday, Sunday and Bhutan government holidays. During the peak season (depending upon the rush), immigration may take long time to issue the permit. We shall not be responsible for any delay during processing of permit by the immigration authority. Please keep your clients informed that they may have to stand on long queue during high season to obtain the permit if traveling via Phuentsholing.
The entry permit is valid for travel in Phuentsholing, Thimphu and Paro only. Special permit is required to travel in Haa, Punakha/Wangdue and beyond.
The special permit will have to be processed in Department of Immigrations, Thimphu; in production of the entry permit or the Passport (photocopies are required). This special permit is given only after guest has entered Bhutan. Permits are not issued on Saturday, Sunday & Bhutan Govt. holidays.
