On your arrival at the airport in Paro you will met, assisted and will be driven to your hotel in Thimphu. Located in the midst of mighty Himalayas, the hidden kingdom of Bhutan is a destination is a privileged and most enthralling destination to visit. It is the last great Himalayan kingdom, wrapped in mystery and magic, where culture and traditions embraces modernity in the most beautiful way. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of the city and visit Simtokha Dzong, Memorial Chorten and Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha view point) etc. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. The collocation of ancient traditions and modernity makes it a suitable destination to visit. There are several attractions in Thimphu such as the National Post Office, the Clock Tower Square, the Motithang Takin Preserve, Tango and Chari Monasteries, Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, Centenary Farmer’s Market, Semtokha Dzong to name a few. These form the most important tourist attractions in the capital city. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, proceed towards Paro. This picturesque place is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river flowing down the valley. On reaching Paro, visit the local market. If time permits, sightseeing will be done. The sightseeing will include a visit to National Museum of Paro and Kyichu Lhakhang. Spend rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.
Today, after breakfast you will leave for Chele La Pass to witness season’s fresh snow. You may indulge yourself in enjoying playing with snow. It’s recommended that you carry a packed lunch from Paro. After spending some time here, head back to Paro. If time permits, you may also go visit a local brewery. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
After breakfast, trek to Taksang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest Temple). This awe-inspiring temple was constructed upon a sheer cliff face, above forests of oak and rhododendrons. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast this morning, you will proceed to Paro Airport to board your flight back home. End your tour at a memorable note!
Indian nationals do not require visa to travel in Bhutan. However they require an entry permit which will have to be processed on arrival. They can also avail advance permits online through a registered tour operator in Bhutan.
If you are traveling with an Indian Passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure from Bhutan), you can avail advance online permits whereby the holidays, or the long queue (for those traveling via land) does not become a hindrance. An e-Permit Clearance shall be sent to you, you will have to print and carry the letter on your travel to Bhutan. The actual permit will be stamped on your Passport on arrival in production of the e-Permit Clearance.
A clear scanned copy of passport (in color) in JPEG or PDF format and the flight details is required to process the online permits. Please note that the permit gets rejected if the Scanned copies of the passports do not meet the standards. Online permits require the use of TCB certified hotels, Bhutanese vehicle and certified Bhutanese guide.
Proper travel documents shall be required at least 10 workings days prior to the date of travel. We shall not be responsible for any rejections or similar issues in regards to the permits due to improper documents or delay in arrival of documents.
Entry permit will be issued at the entry point on production of Indian passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure from Bhutan) or Indian Voter ID. In case of Children, original Birth certificate in English and student ID is required. The traveler is also required to carry photocopy of the travel documents and 04 passport size photographs.
If you are entering Bhutan via land, it is to be noted that the permits are issued only during working days and hours. (Monday to Friday between 9 am to 4 pm during winter and 5 pm during summer). It is suggested that the travelers arriving in Phuentsholing on Friday should arrive latest by 10 AM in order to complete the entry formalities on the same day. No permits are issued on Saturday, Sunday and Bhutan government holidays. During the peak season (depending upon the rush), immigration may take long time to issue the permit. We shall not be responsible for any delay during processing of permit by the immigration authority. Please keep your clients informed that they may have to stand on long queue during high season to obtain the permit if traveling via Phuentsholing.
The entry permit is valid for travel in Phuentsholing, Thimphu and Paro only. Special permit is required to travel in Haa, Punakha/Wangdue and beyond.
The special permit will have to be processed in Department of Immigrations, Thimphu; in production of the entry permit or the Passport (photocopies are required). This special permit is given only after guest has entered Bhutan. Permits are not issued on Saturday, Sunday & Bhutan Govt. holidays.
