Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and transfer to Gangtok (114kms/4.5hrs). At an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim, a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Evening free for individual activity and leisure, overnight at hotel.
AM Pickup from your hotel at Gangtok and Transfer to Lachen (131Kms/6.5Hrs), en-route sightseeing at Singhik View point, Chumthang Valley. Evening free to explore the beautiful Himalayan village by your own. Overnight at Hotel.
Early morning visit Gurudongmar Lake via Chopta Valley. Later return to Lachen hotel and have lunch later leave for Lachung. Overnight at hotel.
Early morning after breakfast start for half day excursion trip to Yumthang Valley, en-route visit Hot Spring and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary. Some photographs of the natural scenes of Switzerland and Yumthang valley are very hard to distinguish. Yumthang, which is at an altitude of 12,000 ft., is situated about 135 km from Gangtok. April and May promises colorful flowers & Orchids, where as November end to March usually sees snows Transfer back to Lachung for Lunch. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Morning after breakfast transfer to Gangtok (125 kms/5hrs). Overnight at hotel.

Warm clothes – North East is colder than states in the south and west of India throughout the year. If planning to come in winters (November to February), bring heavy woolens like thermals, inner, sweater, jacket, boots, gloves to protect yourself from the cold, and good shoes as you may have to walk on snow.
When exposed to the sun’s rays, especially at high altitude regions, it’s important to take precautions. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat/cap are important to carry items. For the rainy season, bring light woolens and a portable umbrella or raincoat. Also, sturdy and comfortable walking shoes with a good grip.
ID proofs – When traveling to North East, it is always a good idea to have your government-issued ID proofs handy. You may be asked to produce them at any point, but to ensure a stress-free holiday, so it is mandatory that you should carry photo proof identity cards such as Voter Id / Passport / Driving Licence and passport size photograph. (PAN Card & Aadhar Card are not considered as a valid ID proof). For children School ID and birth certificate are valid.
Entry Formalities for Non-Indian Passport holders – Foreigners must obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Sikkim. These can be obtained from all Indian Missions, Sikkim Tourism Offices at New Delhi, Kolkata, District Magistrates Office of Darjeeling, Siliguri, and Rangpo on the strength of an Indian Visa. The 30 days duration Permit is issued on the spot without any delay provided photocopies of the passport and visa along with two passport photos of the applicants are made available. The permissible duration of the stay for foreign tourists is 30 days initially.
The State Government is authorized to extend the same by a further period of 30 days. The extension of the permit can be obtained from FRO at Gangtok and office of Superintendent of Police of the North, West and South Districts.
For those interested in going for trekking in the interior region of the state, the Tourism and Civil Aviation issues Protected Area Permit (PAP) at Gangtok which is available for the certain specified area for groups consisting of two or more foreigners subject to the condition that the trekking program is arranged through a registered travel agency.
Non Indian Passport holders are not allowed to visit Baba Mandir.
Mandatory Permits – Permit is mandatory and require for Nathula Pass, Tsomgo Lake Lachung & Lachen). Requires 04 copies of passport size photographs along with original photo ID proof.
The Indian Army allows visiting Nathula from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM only. Guests have to start early from Gangtok. In high season limited permits will be issued by authorities.
Opening and closing days of each of the sightseeing points – Please carefully note the opening and closing days of each of the sightseeing points given in the itinerary. Most of the 7 sightseeing points in Darjeeling are closed on Thursday s, Forests are also closed on Thursdays, In Gangtok, Institute of Tibetology Institute of Handicrafts and handlooms are closed on Sundays. Nathula Pass is subject to the availability of permits and is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Power bank Camera and batteries & Cash – In order to be able to capture all the breathtaking sights you come across in North East, remember to bring your camera and enough batteries to keep it powered on your trip.
Having your phone turned off while traveling to a new place can be worrisome. Remember to pack a fully-charged power bank along with your phone’s charger so that your phone is on throughout the day when you are on the go. The ATMs will not be located abundantly in the high altitude areas, so make sure you have enough cash in hand if you plan to travel to remote places in North east since they may not be having ATMs in close proximity.
